Vedic Art

Freedom

Vedic Art invites you to wake up and take responsibility for your own process, in life and in creativity.
As you paint, feelings awaken, you come more and more home to yourself and at the same time you will experience the whole process of creation. At that moment art and life melt together.

But what is Vedic art?

Vedic art is a method for artistic creation and personal growth with the vision that it should be fun, easy and effortless to paint and create.

This method aims to give you the tools to find your inner expression.

Vedic art welcomes everyone, helping you find yourself again and come home to yourself.

Vedic Art is not a course where you learn painting techniques:

It is a holistic painting method to create a connection between art and life.

For me, Vedic Art is a path to self-liberation, self-development ... a kind of art therapy.

Vedic Art has brought me closer to myself and has given me insights, and this has been life changing.

We use paint and canvas to bring our inner world out or our outer world in...

We follow the 17 principles of Vedic Art.

The art of life and the art of creating from the heart.

This course offers you ways to reconnect with your creative intelligence.

Using various inspiring drawing and painting suggestions and exercises,

you will become acquainted with the 17 principles and discover the connection between your life,

what is developing and what appears on your canvas.

In this way, you will spontaneously come into contact with the 3 levels of Vedic Art:

basic technical knowledge of painting, personal creativity and your inner awareness.

ABOUT THE METHOD

Vedic Art was founded by Swedish artist Curt Källman (1938-2010).

An important part of the method is " The Seventeen Principles of Art and Life". Curt Källman learned the names of the Principles in 1974 from the well-known , Indian meditation teacher Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (1918-2008). Curt Källman developed the content and pedagogical approach of the Vedic Art method in the 1970s-1980s.

The Vedic Art method was founded by Curt Källman in Sweden in 1988. The word "Vedic" comes from Indian Sanskrit, meaning knowledge or wisdom. The fundamental view of Vedic Art is that from birth, we all have great creative power and knowledge within ourselves. Painting is an important tool to unfold these inner resources so that they can be used in a concrete way in life and art. The only way to access the content of Vedic Art and the Seventeen Principles is to take a Vedic Art course taught by a Vedic Art teacher. The method requires no prior knowledge. Everyone is welcome!

THE SEVENTEEN PRINCIPLES

The Seventeen Principles form the core of the Vedic Art method. The names of the Principles derive from an unknown, oral tradition in Indian Vedic philosophy. In 1974, Curt Källman learned the Principles and used them as inspiration to develop the Vedic Art method.

The Principles form the core of the method together with the creative exercises of the basic course and Curt Källman's unique approach.

THE CREATIVE ADVENTURE

The creative activities/exercises in the basic course " open the inner seeing" and follow the Seventeen Principles. . They have been developed or adapted to focus on artistic freedom, the creative process and human life.

CURT KÄLLMAN'S UNIQUE APPROACH

Artistic freedom, the creative process, integrity and the connection between the creative process, life and personal development are among the essence of Vedic Art.

ART AND LIFE

During the courses, we are given tools, to explore our creative expression. We often feel that we develop our self alongside our artistry and experience a deeper sense of unity between ourselves and our art. It becomes a deep personal encounter between creator and creation. The principles are often described as a map or compass for our personal creative journey.

CREATING BEFORE thinking AND INTELLECT

Artists have always longed to express their own individuality and convey their own inner truth in their art. The Creator wants to be able to express our innermost selves. When we create effortlessly, it is easy to forget time and space. We become more present in the here and now and begin to express ourselves. A journey towards finding our own creative expression has begun. It is more about opening the creative "seeing", rather than training the skills of the hand. Beyond all limitations, knowledge, beauty and joy await.

FREEDOM IN CREATIVE EXPRESSION

Vedic Art is not a specific style of painting, but helps course participants find their own personal expression. No teacher will judge us or make demands on us during a Vedic Art course. We can develop at our own pace and find our own way to relate to the creative process. We can come to a course without ever having held a brush beforehand. And we experience that we can actually express ourselves!

What can Vedic art do for you?

First of all, it is very pleasant and relaxing.
You do not have to do anything.

You are free to paint as you wish.
The painting days of Vedic art are moments for yourself.
There are no requirements or rules that you have to follow when you paint.
You can start playing again. Without thinking about what it should be.
There must be a lot already, so let painting be something that makes you happy.

Something in which you can express yourself. And get to know yourself again, your basic authentic self.

Vedic art is about being.
They do not judge you and you learn to move away from the judgements.
Every creation has its own beauty, its own lived being.
Everything you do has its own story. The process is more important than the result.
Thus painting becomes an adventure, a colorful journey.
About freedom.
The 17 principles of Vedic Art help you in this, principles about art and about life. They activate and enlarge the creative flow.
You paint with your personal style. If you have painted a lot or if you have never painted before. You follow your own path, your way, with your possibilities.

Maybe you have already discovered them is knowledge that is transferred from heart to heart.... You cannot read them anywhere.
They are principles or steps to experiment with.
That is the intention of Vedic Art: experimenting, painting, working from contact with your heart .... painting and with your inspiration.
That is why we agreed not to publish anything about the 17 principles, except that they are there.

How can you know the principles of Vedic Art?
If you take part in the basic Vedic art course, you can listen to them one by one, always together with inspiring painting suggestions.
I myself have done all the courses, and they have really helped me in finding my way to my authentic self, rediscovering myself and re-acquainting myself with who I am in essence.

To live in the now
be aware of my thoughts
feel my body and be grateful for everything I feel
I have learned to accept myself, my thoughts, my past and so learned to appreciate the person I am today,
I have learned to love myself and I am more at peace, with myself but also with other people and with things that are happening in my life.

Thanks to this live changing course:

I have learned to accept things as they are, and by doing this, my body feels more relax
I have less pain, and feel much more healthy, even without thinking of it
I choose now healthy and fresh food without missing the less healthy foods, this came all very subtle and without thinking, but naturally.
By doing my exercise, Breathwork and meditation, I am more in line with myself, I have a much better connection with my heart, and with my body,
I became a much better listener to what my body really needs.
I feel much more energetic, younger, fitter and alive.

This is my way of living,

I hope I can help others, and inspire people,l, to find your self, you true self, by using Breathwork, Pranayama and meditation.  With compassion and gentleness.

Namaste 🙏
